The minimalist product paring was the result of an ongoing frustration with the lack of luxury and sophistication of similar products in the market. "In our work and home environments we are too often surrounded by impersonal and mass-produced objects made of injection molded plastics and silicon. With Solid and Catch, we sought to create a natural sculptural form that beckons exploration while evoking curiosity," states Antonioni.
Solid and Catch are manufactured in Rumford, Maine from sustainably harvested maple and walnut wood from the picturesque Mahoosuc Mountain Range. The master craftsmen will be using a precision 5-axis CNC routing machine to create the initial form then sand to perfection by hand. Lastly, natural oils are applied to enrich and protect the fine wood texture.
Solid is handsome in-use and when not in-use. Intelligent design provides two viewing angles that are optimized for ideal comfort while sitting or standing. This makes it the perfect tablet companion for any environment. Reading email, surfing the web, listening to music or watching video is pure pleasure with Solid. Dual sculpted trays accommodate personal items such as keys, chargers, or that lucky rabbits foot. Solid supports multiple devices side by side like an iPad and an iPhone.
